Top 5 Carpooling and Ridesharing Apps on Android in Australia Q3 2022

In the third quarter of 2022, the performance of the top carpooling and ridesharing apps on the Android platform in Australia presented varied trends in downloads and active users, according to Sensor Tower data.

Uber - Request a ride saw weekly downloads fluctuate, beginning at approximately 9.6K in late June and peaking at around 10.8K in mid-September. Active users for the app exhibited a notable increase, rising from about 310K at the start of the quarter to over 350K by the end of September.

DiDi Rider: Affordable rides experienced a slight decline in weekly downloads, starting from around 8.4K at the end of June and dropping to roughly 6.8K by late September. Despite this, active user numbers remained relatively stable, hovering around 135K to 145K throughout the quarter.

For Uber - Driver: Drive & Deliver, weekly downloads showed a moderate increase, moving from about 4.6K in late June to a high of 7.1K in mid-September before settling at 6.3K by the end of the quarter. The active user count remained fairly consistent, fluctuating between 52K and 58K.

inDrive. Save on city rides had a mixed performance with weekly downloads starting at approximately 4.1K in late June, hitting a low of about 1.9K in early August, and recovering to about 2.9K by the end of September. Active users showed a positive trend, increasing from around 10.8K to 14.8K over the quarter.

Lastly, Ola: Book Cab, Auto, Bike Taxi maintained a stable download rate, with weekly downloads fluctuating slightly around 1.1K. The app's active user base, however, showed a slight decline, starting from approximately 215K in late June and ending at around 204K by the end of September.
